JANET'S STORY
As a young girl, Janet enjoyed being tucked in her bed by her adoptive parents while she listened to her fairy-tale-like birth story. This sparked her curiosity and Janet always felt that one day she would solve this mystery and understand her biological existence. Once Janet turned 18 years of age, she wrote to the ministry to receive her adoption documentation. A few weeks later, Janet found herself staring at her daunting reality - her story was in fact true, and it was painfully real. Soon after Janet ventured to the town she was abandoned at and as she overlooked the drab, dark and rainy town - she vowed to herself that she would indeed find her biological parents one day. This of course has yet to happen, but Janet has been on quite a journey. After a whirlwind of national media attention, in May of 2005 Janet had the great fortune of reuniting at her "spot" with the man who found her body on that cold morning in October, 1977. Additionally, she met the woman who ran the orphanage and visited the facility. This personal pursuit of Janet’s blossomed and catapulted her into the world of public speaking for awareness of adoptee's issues. In time, Janet realized that her devotion to enrich orphan’s lives, limitless to all cultures, religions and geographic placement was a high priority and that she should solely concentrate on this passion. In doing so, Janet believes that these orphan’s eyes will be opened with a glimmer of hope and awareness that they are not alone; they are not forgotten!
